American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) class allows you to teach various courses such as:
- Lifeguard Training
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Lifeguard Management
- Bloodborne Pathogens: Preventing Disease Transmission
- Oxygen Administration
- Guard Start
- Basic Water Rescue
- Lay Responder FA/CPR/AED (with self study)
Candidates will be asked to complete four practice teaching assignment, using Instructor materials.
Come to class prepared each day and actively participate in all sessions.
Pass a written exam on the last day of class with 80% or higher.

- American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Manual w/CD rom
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Participant Manual
- American Red Cross Certification Cards (if individual passes all ARC requirements)
LUNCHES AND BREAKS FOR ALL CLASSES:
- Lunch Breaks: PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING LUNCH EACH DAY. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE CLASS TO PURCHASE LUNCH.
- Breaks: There will be small 5 to 10 minute breaks throughout the classes.
WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS: Each student needs to bring proof of age, bathing suit, basic level book, pocket mask, towels, pen and paper.
FEES: IF YOU INTEND TO WORK, OR ARE IN THE PROCESS OF APPLYING TO GHPM FOR THE 2009 SEASON YOU MAY PAY THE REDUCED EMPLOYEE FEE. PAYING THE EMPLOYEE FEE DOES NOT GUARANTEE EMPLOYMENT WITH GHPM. PLEASE REFER ALL EMPLOYMENT QUESTIONS AND SUBMIT APPLICATIONS BY CLICKING ON THE "EMPLOYMENT" SECTION. ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS MUST PAY THE NON-EMPLOYEE FEE. SITE LOCATIONS AND DIRECTIONS
